Dear Contestant,

Thank you for your interest in the SF Eagle Leather Pet title and joining our family of titleholders. These representatives and the SF Eagle are maintaining a tradition of working together to uphold the Leather ideals of respect, honor and integrity; and to implement those ideals in supporting the Leather/Kink communities in San Francisco and beyond. 

While the only official requirements of SF Eagle Leather Pet is to compete for the title and produce one fundraising event (or prospect organizations who will produce fundraisers) at the SF Eagle, our expectation is that you will represent the title with dignity and respect throughout your title year. Our hope is that you will continue to be involved in community organizations and events beyond your year as SF Eagle Leather Pet.

SF Eagle Leather Pet Contest Itinerary 

Event Date: Friday July 19 through Sunday July 21, 2024

Application Deadline: Thursday July 18th 2024 at noon

Meet & Greet: Friday July 19, 7-9pm

Location: SF Eagle, 398 12th St., San Francisco, CA 94103 

Pre-Judging: Saturday July 20, 2-4pm (Contestants must arrive by 12:30pm.)

Contest: Saturday July 20, 6-8pm

Celebratory Beer Bust: Sunday July 21, 3-7pm

CONTEST INFORMATION

The contest consists of the four categories listed below, each scored separately. The points in the parenthesis are the total points allocated per category. The contest is comprised of 200 total points.

• The Interview (60 points):

Contestants will be interviewed in private by the judging panel prior to the onstage contest. Contestants are judged on their ability to think on their feet, their knowledge of Leather Pet lifestyle-related issues and history, and how they respond to the questions asked of them.

Attire: Street/Casual Wear (Wear what best suits your personality. If you choose to wear a hood, remember to take it off before the judges’ first question.)

• On Stage Pop Question (20 points)

Each contestant will be asked a question to answer on stage. Questions will be submitted by the judges and contestants will pull one question out of a hat. This is a show for the audience, something to have fun with. There are no right or wrong answers. It’s a chance to get into Pet Headspace in preparation for your Pet Play/Fantasy Scene.

Attire: Pet Play Attire (What you will be wearing for your Fantasy Scene)

• Pet Play/Fantasy Scene (60 points)

Each Leather Pet contestant will appear onstage to perform a pet play scene that they have written and designed. The Scene can be read by the Emcee while acted out by the contestant, or driven by a soundtrack (music must be provided on either a CD or USB drive for the DJ). Judging in this category is based on the contestant’s creativity and ability to convey their most playful pet play scene. Contestants may involve one additional pet or they may also request a volunteer staff member to help. Props may be used, but must be approved by the contest producers for safety and compliance with the law. The Pet Play Fantasy Scene may not exceed five minutes in length. NOTE: The fantasy is to be typed out (try to keep it under 150 words) and turned into the contest producers at the Meet & Greet on Friday evening. If you don’t have a printer, send a message to Nunca on Facebook Messenger and they will print it out for you.

• Speech and Formal Wear (30 points for Speech, 30 points for Image):

Contestants will each be given 90 seconds to speak on a topic of their choice related to the Leather/Fetish/Kink community. Speak about something that ignites passion within YOU, as it relates to the community at large. Contestants will be judged on the delivery of their speech and separately on their formal wear. Keep your speech short and to the point. Speeches longer than 90 seconds will be docked points. Judges will observe each contestant during the Meet & Greet, the interviews and the stage presentations, and will judge each contestant on their conduct, manner and Leather Pet expression throughout the contest events.

Attire: Formal Leather/Kink Pet wear

At the end of each category all contestants will be brought back up on stage together so the judges and audience can get one last look.

Final Words of Advice:

The SF Eagle Leather Pet Contest is about having a good time, socializing with fellow fetish community members, and promoting the Pet lifestyle. The SF Eagle Leather Pet was created to have a great time. We encourage the contestants to have fun and entertain the audience to set this contest apart from many others. We also encourage you to work with the audience and judges to stand out on stage while competing.

During the contest, contestants are encouraged to demonstrate different Pet looks representing the different judged categories. Time is scheduled during the contest, allowing contestants time for gear and look changes. Assistance is available from our Den Staff or your personal assistant. Each contestant is allowed one personal assistant, but we do not guarantee that there will be room for them to be in the Den the entire time. Come prepared with backup outfits and gear in case of accidents and blowouts (don’t sneeze!). CONTESTANT ELIGIBILITY

• U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident of California 
• 21 years of age or older 
• Attest that, for six (6) months prior to the contest, been a resident of San Francisco County, CA, or live in a county where a Leather title is not offered. Contestants living in counties where other Leather titles are offered are not eligible to compete.

The SF Eagle Leather Pet contest is accessible to all non-male identifying applicants. If you will need additional assistance to participate in the contest (including but not limited to ASL interpreter, physical assistance for the visually impaired, or wheelchair accommodations), please make a note in the “Additional Comments” portion of the application.

TITLEHOLDER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Throughout the year the titleholder will be expected to represent the SF Eagle bar in a dignified and respectful manner. 
• Host at least one Sunday Beer Bust

Note: Throughout this document the term CONTEST shall mean the SF Eagle Laather Pet contest, the term PRODUCERS shall mean Lex Montiel and any other producers and associate producers who may be designated in the future. 

We, as the owner and producers of the contest withhold the right to deny admittance into the aforementioned contest should we determine the applicant, upon inspection through social media and other means, does not reflect upstanding community values or our ideal Ms. SF Eagle candidate. 

PHOTOGRAPHIC RELEASE AND WAIVER 

I, the undersigned, hereby give the CONTEST and it’s PRODUCERS, their photographers, legal representatives, agents or assigns, the right and permission to copyright, use, reuse, broadcast and/or publish any and all Photographic Pictures of me, which shall be take during the CONTEST or as a result my preparation for the CONTEST, or as a result of my having participated in the CONTEST. That term “Photographic Pictures”, as used herein shall include portraits, or reproductions thereof, including audio and video tapes, made through any media. Further such rights shall include the right to use such Photographic Pictures in conjunction with my name, and through any media, for any purpose whatsoever. I HEREBY WAIVE any right to inspect or approve the finished Photographic Pictures, or the method of their eventual use, including any related audio or printed copy which may be used in conjunction therewithin. I HEREBY RELEASE, discharge and agree to save harmless the CONTEST and its PRODUCERS, their photographers, legal representatives, agents or assigns, including those publishing and/or distributing the finished product, in whole or in part, from and against any liability or claim as a result of the use of publication of said Photographic Pictures, from any distortion, blurring, alteration, optical illusion, or use in composite form, either intentionally or otherwise, that may occur or be produced in the taking, processing or reproduction of the Photographic Pictures, their publication or distribution. I HAVE READ the foregoing Release and Waiver before signing my name below. I warrant my full understanding of its contents, and that I am of legal age to give consent in this state. 

INDEMNIFICATION AND HOLD HARMLESS 

I certify that I have attained at least twenty-one (21) years of age, and that I, based upon mutual covenants and considerations (including granting me the privilege of attending and participating in the CONTEST) will not hold the PRODUCERS nor the individual and/or collective owners, officers, agents, and employees thereof liable for any injury to my person or property occurring during any period in association with the CONTEST, and I further agree to indemnify and save harmless and hold harmless the PRODUCERS the individual and/or collective owners, officers, agents and employees from any and all liability, injury or economic loss or other damage.
